Every 1’s a Winger
EVERY 1’s A WINGER (BINGO MODE) challenges the constitution of the Australian national identity in its reliance on particular aesthetics and colonial centric narratives.
With the absence of artistic materials, an array of narratives are presented – readily found within First Nation art practice – many of which are ignored through nationalist constructs or otherwise reconfigured, and rendered invisible.
Steven Rhall is a post-conceptual artist operating from a First Nation, white-passing, cis male positionality. Rhall’s interdisciplinary practice responds to the intersectionality of First Nation art practice and the Western art canon.
Steven Rhall is represented by New Agency.
